How do I change gender?

your profile is presented to other people, from this page too.
How do I upload a picture?
If you registered the profile with the wrong membership type, please contact us with the request to let us alter it for you. Find 'Contact us' link at the bottom of the page, follow to the option "How do I amend my profile information?", pick "Gender" and finally choose the correct gender type from the drop down menu.
To upload your photo using your mobile phone please follow these simple procedures:
1. Update your profile to include your mobile phone number. You can do this by going to My Account | general and then enter your
mobile number in the relevant box and chose update.

Can I put up pictures that only my friends can
see?
You can post up to four pictures with myUKdate. The first one
cannot be flagged for friends only.
Pictures 2 to 4 can be flagged for friends only so that you can
choose who views them. You need to upload your picture first, then select "for
friends only" so that the words "for friends only" appear under the heading for
that picture.
How do I remove my pictures?
If for some reason you want to remove your pictures simply
replace them with a suitable alternative.
If you delete your profile, or suspend your account, your
pictures will be automatically removed.
How do I change my pictures?
You can change your pictures at any time by simply uploading
new ones.
Once you have updated new pictures please make sure you clear
your computer's cache. Otherwise, you may find that your old photographs are
displayed...even though the rest of my UK date members are seeing the new
pictures you have loaded. This can be done in IE from the Tools -> Internet
Options -> Delete Temporary Files.
It normally takes about a day to process your pictures. We will
mail you to let you know that we have received them and then again once they
are loaded.
What if I do not have a digital image?
Not everyone has a scanner or digital camera, so if this is
you, and you do not have a digital image, you can post us a picture. We will
scan it in and upload it for you. Send your pictures to:
Easy Date Ltd (MUKD)
23 Manor Place
Edinburgh
EH3 7DX
Make sure you put your screen name on them, and if you send more than one,
add which position you want to show them in (ie:1 - 4). If you want them back,
please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.

Finding People
What is the difference between search and advanced search?
Search provides a list of members profiles based on the
criteria you select. All members can access basic search - and get a quick list
of people who exactly match the criteria they are looking for. Advanced search
allows you to fine-tune your requirements you can change the settings at
anytime and get an instant list of people on my UK date. Your advanced search
settings are stored, so once you have found selection criteria that work for
you, it is possible to use those criteria each time you come back to myUKdate.
Why do I get no results when I use advanced search?
Advanced search is based on what people enter into their own
profiles. So, if you select a lot of criteria, you will only get results from
people who have filled in all that information.
For example, if you put a height range in, only people who fall
within that height range will be shown...if someone hasn't filled in the box to
show how tall they are, they will not be included.
So...you may need to leave some sections completely blank...if
something is not important to you, don't tick any boxes in that section at all
- that way you will get people who simply haven't filled in that part of their
profile yet.
You can change the settings as much as you want. The best way
to set up the right criteria for you is to start by only including the things
that are absolutely essential...then add "nice to haves" until you get a list
of members that is about right for you!
How can I find members who live near me?
Make sure you have filled in your own postcode on the basic
profile screen. This is never displayed to any members, but is used to "power"
our location tool. If you are worried about confidentiality, just put in the
outbound part of your postcode (e.g. SW6 or PE33)
Then in search plus you will be able to look for other people
who live within 10, 25, 50 or a hundred miles of you.
Remember, if they haven't put in their own postcode, we can't
tell where they live so you won’t be able to find them!
How can I find members who have joined recently and/or have
visited the site recently
You can select people who have joined recently using the
appropriate button on the site. Whatever search you use, the results will be
returned to you in the order of "people who most recently visited the site".
Why do I see both men and women when I search to see who is
online?
Unlike other dating sites, we recognise that many of our
members like to chat to other members of the same sex.
You can carry out an online search using search and selecting
only members who are online to restrict the listing to members of the opposite
sex if you prefer.

Mail
How do I send mail to someone?
Our mail service is completely confidential and discrete. You
simply click on the "mail" link from search or from the profile of the person
you want to contact and then write and send!
Once you have sent a mail, a copy will be put in your "sent
mail" folder, so that you can see who you have written to.
I have sent mail and not had a reply - why not?
We cannot control whether another member writes back to you or
not. We do hope that all our members are polite enough to say "thanks but no
thanks" if they are not interested.
Can I send attachments?
No, we do not allow attachments
Can I send mail to an external email address?
No, you can only send mail to other members of myUKdate, using
their screen name. If you try to send mail to an external email address it will
simply disappear!

Flirting
What is flirting?
Flirting is one of the easiest ways to get to know anyone else
who is online. Simply click on the "flirting" link from search or from their
profile and you can send them an instant message.
Why don't my "flirts" arrive immediately?
We recognise that it is important to allow the person you are
trying to chat with enough time to finish what they are doing. So, depending on
what they are already doing, your flirt message might take a little longer to
arrive. A good example is a new member completing their profile. If you spot
someone new, we do encourage you to chat with them...but remember they might be
trying to think about what to put into their profile...so, we allow a little
longer before a flirt is delivered.
What is the "tinkerbell" noise?
There is a sound alert for a flirt. You can switch it off using
your computer's own sound settings.
How can I see who is flirting with me?
You can look at the profile of anyone who is flirting with you
by clicking on the "eye" to browse their profile.
How can I stop someone flirting with me?
If you do not want to chat to an individual for any reason, you
can block that person for as long as you want. You will then be invisible to
them. To block someone, simply go to their profile and click on the block
button.
To check who you have blocked go to "My Profile" and "Blocked".
You can see a list of who is blocked and can "unblock" them.
